The Annecy International Animation Film Festival is scheduled to run from June 21 to June 27, 2026.

Director Mokochan, who previously served as assistant director on “Dan Da Dan,” aims to faithfully translate Masamune Shirow’s iconic manga art style into the new anime series. The production boasts a strong creative lineup, with Toh Enjoe handling series composition and scripts, Shuhei Handa overseeing character designs and chief animation direction, and a musical score by Taisei Iwasaki, Ryo Konishi, and YUKI KANESAKA, with Iwasaki also serving as music director.

The trailer features the return of Major Motoko Kusanagi alongside the Shell Squad, hinting at thrilling action sequences. Set in the year 2029, the series remains faithful to the established timeline of the original story.
