Motorola has officially announced the release date and pricing for its latest foldable smartphone in Canada. The Motorola Razr Fold is set to launch on May 21st, with a price tag of C$2,699.99, available directly from Motorola.
Canadians will have a choice of two distinctive finishes: Pantone Blackened Blue, featuring a matte vegan-leather texture, and Pantone Lily White, offering a smooth, sleek feel. For those preferring to purchase through a carrier, wider availability is expected on June 12th.
Breaking away from previous Razr designs, this new model adopts a book-style foldable format. When unfolded, it expands from a 6.6-inch screen to an impressive 8.1-inch display, forming a near-square shape. Considering its premium price point, the Razr Fold will compete with other high-end foldable devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z and Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, offering a compelling option for consumers interested in the foldable market.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the robust camera system. It includes a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, a 32-megapixel front-facing camera on the exterior, and a 20-megapixel internal front camera. The device also supports video recording up to 4K at 60 frames per second or 8K at 30 frames per second.
Technologically, the Motorola Razr Fold runs on Android 16 and is equipped with 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, featuring RAM Boost. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. The battery capacity is 6000 mAh, supporting 80W TurboPower wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 5W reverse charging. Audio is enhanced by Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, Sound by Bose tuning, and three dedicated microphones.
The new Motorola Razr Fold will be available for C$2,699.99 starting May 21st on the Motorola website. An expanded release through select carriers is scheduled for June 12th.
