Project Motor Racing 2.0: A Massive Update to Redeem the Racing Simulator
The racing simulator Project Motor Racing is striving for a comeback with a massive 2.0 update, specifically designed to address initial player criticisms. Developers GIANTS Software and Straight4 Studios have released this version, described as the largest ever, aiming to rebuild the game's foundations after a challenging initial reception.
A Transformed Game Experience
This update revolutionizes several key areas: the user interface has been completely redesigned for intuitive navigation, while driving physics have been refined to deliver a more realistic experience. The online component has been significantly enhanced with advanced anti-cheat systems and more stable session management, also introducing License Points to promote fair play among drivers in ranked modes.
The career mode has been overhauled with clearer progression, a refreshed presentation, real sponsors, and immersive details like podium ceremonies and trophies. Technically, there are significant improvements to graphics, lighting, performance, and overall stability.
Developers emphasize close collaboration with the community during this process. Boris Stefan from GIANTS Software reaffirmed their belief in the project and announced a limited-time 50% discount to attract new players. Kevin Boland of Straight4 Studios highlighted that the 2.0 update is the culmination of months of feedback and testing, marking a new beginning for the title.
Coinciding with the update, the first official DLC, the Japanese GT500 Pack, will arrive on March 31st. This pack will add five modern SUPER GT GT500 class cars, four iconic JGTC models (including the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 and Nissan Fairlady Z Z33), and a Japanese circuit.
Project Motor Racing is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with the 2.0 update accessible across all platforms.
