Miniature Life Sim Animula Nook Launching First Alpha Playtest
LilliLandia Games, a studio operating under Tencent Games, has officially announced the launch of the first alpha playtest for its highly anticipated life-simulation game, Animula Nook.
This initial alpha playtest for Animula Nook is set to commence on March 19, 2026, and will be exclusively available for PC players, offering a charming and immersive "cozy game" experience. In the game, players will embody a miniature character whose appearance they can customize. They will also have the ability to design their homes and influence elements of certain non-player characters (NPCs). This playtest aims to give participants an early glimpse into the core gameplay mechanics that Animula Nook promises.
A significant highlight of the alpha playtest is the introduction of new explorable areas. Players can expand their personal space with the newly added Balcony area, designed for open-air building and planting, and also venture into the Wupa Woods. The Wupa Woods serves as the first major outdoor zone players can explore, where they will discover valuable materials such as petals, spider silk, mushrooms, and bottled sunlight, all presumably essential for crafting, interacting with NPCs, and further customization.
Despite the miniature scale, players will not be alone. The world of Minietopia is populated by 50 distinct "Minies," its original inhabitants. Players can meet and interact with these characters through various engaging activities, including cooking, dancing, and performing. The alpha phase also includes an extensive collection of over 500 different outfits and furniture items to be discovered and used alongside the Minies.
The Animula Nook Development Team shared their excitement, stating, "This is an invitation to Minietopia, welcoming all gamers to become the first residents and take part in Animula Nook’s early Alpha. Players can explore the miniature world, create their own neighborhoods, and help grow a vibrant in-game community as the world begins to take shape. It’s time to discover its tiny wonders and start building this little world together."
The enthusiasm for Animula Nook is evident, with an impressive 6.3 million individuals having registered for the playtest when sign-ups opened in February 2026. To complement the anticipation, players can also participate in a unique "Arrival Card Event," offering opportunities to win coveted Alpha Test Access, exclusive merchandise, and more. For those eager to join, sign-ups for the PC-exclusive playtest remain open until March 15, 2026. Interested players are encouraged to register quickly to secure their spot in this irresistible miniature world.
