Bungie has rolled out a new update for Marathon, bringing the game to version 1.0.5.1. This patch introduces a series of technical fixes and enhancements aimed at improving game stability and balancing the overall experience. A notable change on the item and economy front is that previously unowned Cryo Archive shell styles are now visible in the customization menu, mirroring the functionality already present in the Codex.
Patch Details
Regarding gameplay, a critical issue related to the Thief class has been resolved. Previously, a bug allowed players to reset the cooldown of the 'Pickpocket' drone by activating the primary ability precisely when its timer expired.
Several map-specific bugs have also been addressed. In particular, errors in Outpost and Cryo-Archive that allowed players to exploit areas outside the intended boundaries have been corrected. These exploits previously led to issues such as objects clipping through environments or visual elements failing to render correctly.
Numerous fixes enhance the game's interface and user experience (UI/UX). This includes resolving a malfunction where extraction points would disappear from the map after being repeatedly marked, and correcting localization errors found in ranked cosmetic challenges and Codex entries. Contract-related problems have also been rectified, such as an incorrect update timer ('+1 week') and a bug that rendered contracts inaccessible by incorrectly labeling them as 'Contract Disabled'.
On the plan for general stability, the update targets frequent crashes, disconnections, and other errors that would return players directly to the lobby. Finally, an issue affecting matchmaking has been fixed, which previously caused longer-than-expected wait times in the experimental two-player mode.
