Cyberpunk 2077 Receives Major Edgerunners 2 Update on October 22
CD Projekt RED is releasing its most substantial Cyberpunk 2077 update since the Phantom Liberty expansion: Update 2.5, arriving this week.
Following the free remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, CD Projekt RED is refocusing on Cyberpunk 2077. This comes after game director Gabe Amatangelo indicated the studio would cease major updates as it shifted to new projects. However, CD Projekt RED has now confirmed another significant update is imminent.
Scheduled for October 22, the free Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 will introduce new features and content drawing inspiration from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. A new livestream tomorrow, October 21, will offer a closer look at the update's features. Players can expect cyberware customization and a new dual-wielding combat style.
This update could offer Cyberpunk 2077 a boost similar to the recent The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered. Alternatively, developers may simply have developed fresh ideas, encouraging players to revisit Night City.
The full update details will be revealed tomorrow via livestream at 11:00 a.m. EST on the CD Projekt RED YouTube channel. The update itself launches the following day, October 22, 2027.
