Just three weeks after its release, Pearl Abyss has revealed plans for substantial, potentially game-altering updates for Crimson Desert. These follow recent significant adjustments to the game's inventory management, combat mechanics, fast travel system, puzzle-solving elements, and more.
In a recent developer update posted on the official Crimson Desert website, Pearl Abyss outlined several upcoming changes slated for gradual implementation between April and June.
Among the most anticipated features are three key additions:
- Boss Rematches: Players will have the opportunity to re-challenge formidable bosses encountered throughout their journey. This feature aims to allow players to test their progression, refine combat strategies, and experiment with different approaches against familiar foes.
- Re-blockading: The game world will see the return of enemy forces attempting to reclaim areas previously secured by the Greymanes. Players will need to defend these locations once more, reinforcing their strength and control.
- Difficulty Settings: To cater to a wider range of players, a new difficulty setting system will be introduced. Players will be able to select from easy, normal, and hard modes, ensuring an enjoyable experience for both newcomers and veteran adventurers.
Beyond these core features, Pearl Abyss is also introducing new skills for characters Damiane and Ooongka, an option to visually hide back weapons, and new obtainable outfits. Quality-of-life improvements are also a priority, with a notable expansion to storage functionalities. This includes dedicated food storage, allowing players to store ingredients and use them directly for cooking, as well as a wardrobe system and expanded gatherable storage.
Further enhancements will involve UI readability improvements, control adjustments, and optimizations for distant scenery. While specific release dates for all these updates are not yet confirmed, the current development pace suggests a rollout by June.
Crimson Desert is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
