Norris achieved widespread recognition for his portrayal of Texas Ranger Sergeant Cordell Walker, a role he played for nine seasons in the popular series Walker, Texas Ranger. Both the character and Norris himself were famously associated with impressive roundhouse kicks, a detail often celebrated in early 2000s internet memes.
Born Carlos Ray Norris in Ryan, Oklahoma, on March 10, 1940, he initially gained renown as a martial arts champion and instructor. His acting career began with The Wrecking Crew in 1968, followed by significant roles in films such as Bruce Lee’s The Way of the Dragon, Lone Wolf McQuade, and Missing in Action.
