XBOX Games Showcase 2026: All Major Announcements Revealed

The highly anticipated XBOX Games Showcase 2026 has concluded, and Microsoft delivered a packed presentation featuring numerous gameplay updates and surprise reveals. Following its opening at Summer Game Fest 2026, Xbox highlighted advancements from its first-party studios. This year’s showcase was particularly notable for presenting the first teaser for Playground Games’ Fable.

As new CEO Asha Sharma emphasized the importance of exclusive content for a platform, the 2026 showcase aimed to deliver exactly that. Here’s a comprehensive rundown of everything announced:

Gears of War: E-Day

The showcase opened with a glimpse into Gears of War: E-Day, featuring younger versions of Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago. The trailer showcased a pre-war Sera with advanced infrastructure, which was soon overrun by Locust emerging from the ground. A terrifying Corpser from the original trailer wreaked havoc, emphasizing the pure terror and adrenaline of the new title. The Coalition has significantly updated visuals, including executions and the visceral feel of the Retro Lancer. Marcus faces a Boomer in the final moments, rescued by another Gear. Gears of War: E-Day is set to launch on October 6th as an Xbox console exclusive.

Fable

Playground Games offered a fresh look at the Fable reboot. The trailer introduces the Hero, Isabel, and features callbacks to the series, including a Demon Door. Albion needs a hero, and Isabel seems to fit the bill. The trailer concludes with a surprising appearance from Jack of Blades. Fable aims to let players forge their own heroic path and is scheduled for release on February 23rd.

Halo Campaign Evolved

The first entry in the Halo franchise returns with Halo Campaign Evolved, bringing fans back to where it all began. This new experience will include three new missions and is set to arrive on July 28th.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy

Asobo Studio announced a new entry in the A Plague Tale series, titled Resonance. Players will step into the shoes of Sophia, facing perilous trials and uncovering hidden truths. The game is slated for release on August 27th.

Persona 4 Revival

The rumored Persona 4 Remake has been officially confirmed as Persona 4 Revival. Utilizing graphics similar to Persona 3 Reloaded but with a Persona 5 influence, this title allows players to revisit the beloved fourth mainline entry without needing a PlayStation Vita. It’s scheduled to launch on February 18th, 2027.

State of Decay 3

Undead Labs presented a new look at State of Decay 3, where survivors lead a resistance against actively hunting undead. The game emphasizes survival and teamwork against the apocalypse, with a release planned for 2027.

Sea of Thieves Custom Seas Lets Fans Make New Ways To Play!

The latest update for Sea of Thieves, “Custom Seas,” empowers players to create their own gameplay experiences, from obstacle courses to King of the Hill modes. The content for Season 20 is now in the hands of the community.

Metro 2039

The next installment in the high-octane first-person shooter series, Metro 2039, was revealed, with a release planned for February 2027.

Bad Magpie

A world premiere introduced Bad Magpie, a game featuring a small blue magpie interacting with its environment in a style reminiscent of Untitled Goose Game. The title is coming soon.

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember

Koei Tecmo’s Team Ninja unveiled the sequel to their action RPG series, Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember. The game is expected in early 2027.

Join Us

This new co-op survival experience allows players to start and manage their own doomsday cult. Recruit followers, build compounds, customize beliefs, and battle enemies in this 1-4 player open-world adventure. It’s set to release in March 2027.

Senua

Xbox Game Studios presented the first look at Senua, the next title in the Hellblade series. The game follows Senua, a Celtic warrior trapped between life and death, battling to reach the afterlife. It’s slated for release in 2027.

Fallout 76: Infestations

A new update for Fallout 76, titled Infestations, is available now. Players who log in daily between June 7th and June 15th will receive free daily rewards.

DOOM: The Dark Ages Revelations

The high-octane action of DOOM continues with DOOM: The Dark Ages Revelations. The Slayer gains new weapons, including a spear for grappling and a shield, to combat the hordes of hell. The game launches on July 7th.

Crazy Taxi: World Tour

SEGA’s beloved arcade racer returns with Crazy Taxi: World Tour, taking the crazy driving and adventure global. The game is expected in 2027.

New XBOX Series X 25th Anniversary Edition Announcement

In celebration of its 25th anniversary, a limited-edition green XBOX Series X console will be released in November 2026.

Age of Empires IV: Raiders of the North Expansion

The new expansion for Age of Empires IV, titled Raiders of the North, has been revealed and will be available in Fall 2026.

Minecraft Dungeons 2

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is receiving World Update 22, adding numerous new locations, including national parks, to the digital twin.

Where Winds Meet: Hidden Mountain

An expansion for Where Winds Meet, titled Hidden Mountain, is coming soon to Xbox. It will feature a brand-new map, martial arts adventures, and new areas to explore.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse

The first look at Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse was revealed, showcasing stylish platforming and the challenges faced by the new Belmont, Rose Belmont. Developed by creators of The Rogue Prince of Persia and Dead Cells, the game launches on October 15, 2026.

Vivarium

Serenity Forge announced Vivarium, a life-sim adventure with hand-illustrated art inspired by classic anime. Players can explore a pocket world, uncover its secrets, and shape a non-linear narrative. The game is coming soon.

Persona 6

Following recent leaks, Persona 6 has been officially confirmed with a small teaser shown at the XBOX Games Showcase 2026.

Spyro: A Realm Beyond
