Wizards of the Coast, the creators of Dungeons and Dragons, have announced a brand-new actual play series titled Dungeon Masters.
This new Dungeons and Dragons series is set to launch on YouTube on April 22nd with a two-episode premiere. Subsequent episodes will be released weekly. The show will feature official Dungeons & Dragons content that has not yet been released to the public, enhanced with visuals designed to help viewers easily follow the on-screen action.
Dungeon Masters boasts a star-studded cast of acclaimed personalities from the gaming, streaming, and television industries. Leading the campaign as the Dungeon Master will be Jasmine Bhullar, known for her work on DesiQuest and Dimension 20. The player characters will be brought to life by Mayanna Berrin of Dispatch and StoryQuest, and Christian Navarro, recognized for his role in 13 Reasons Why and his appearance in Forgotten Realms: Tears of Selune. Adding to the excitement, two prominent voice actors from the hit game Baldur’s Gate III are joining the cast: Neil Newbon, the voice of Astarion, and Devora Wilde, the voice of Lae’zel.
Dan Ayoub, SVP and Head of Dungeons & Dragons at Wizards of the Coast, expressed his enthusiasm: “Dungeon Masters offers our fans a genuinely authentic and original experience, packed with all the fun, high-stakes moments, drama, and adventure derived from official D&D material.”
He further elaborated on the series’ inspiration: “In many respects, Dungeon Masters is our tribute to the actual play shows that have introduced so many people to D&D. Our goal with Dungeon Masters is to encapsulate everything that makes actual play compelling – the tension, the drama, and the unpredictable nature – and to leave our mark on it with forthcoming official source material. We are incredibly eager to witness how Dungeon Masters can spark further adventures among our players, and in turn, how they will inspire us to continually enhance the show.”
The initial story arc of the Dungeons and Dragons campaign will be set within the grim and atmospheric realm of Ravenloft, the same dark fantasy setting that is the focus of the recently announced Ravenloft: The Horrors Within. The series will also feature an original score composed by five-time Grammy nominee David Arkenstone, who has an extensive background in composing for games and television.
Mark your calendars to watch Dungeon Masters when it premieres on YouTube on April 22nd at 9:30 pm EDT.
