PlayStation State Of Play Returns in June!

PlayStation has confirmed the date for its upcoming State of Play presentation, coinciding with the start of Summer Game Fest.

The first week of June is shaping up to be a significant period for game reveals, and Sony has announced that its State of Play will take place on June 2 to showcase upcoming PlayStation content. According to the PlayStation Blog, the 60-minute broadcast will prominently feature Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Wolverine, alongside other notable announcements.

While the full lineup for this State of Play remains undisclosed, it’s confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine will take center stage, opening the show with an extended look at its gameplay and the “brutal and relentless combat” of the character.

Marvel’s Wolverine has been a highly anticipated title since its initial reveal at the PlayStation Showcase in 2021. Following a gameplay trailer release last September, which indicated a Fall 2026 launch, Insomniac Games provided a specific release date of September 15, 2026, in a brief video earlier this year.

With Sony’s portfolio of significant titles, including recent releases like SAROS and Helldivers 2, as well as the enduring racing simulator Gran Turismo 7, viewers can expect a range of exciting announcements. In light of Xbox’s recent news about their next-generation console, Project Helix, there’s speculation that Sony might offer a glimpse into the future beyond the PlayStation 5. Additionally, fans may finally receive updates on a potential Bloodborne remake.

The next PlayStation State of Play is scheduled for June 2 at 5 pm EST. Fans can watch the live stream on PlayStation’s official YouTube or Twitch channels.

Sony and PlayStation have announced the date for their next State of Play, and it is scheduled to take place right alongside Summer Game Fest.

The first week of June is looking quite packed with game announcements and showcases, and Sony has just announced they will be taking their spot on June 2 to spotlight what’s next for PlayStation! It was confirmed on the Sony Blog that the 60-minute State of Play will feature Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Wolverine, as well as some other big announcements.

We don’t know much about the exact lineup for this upcoming State of Play, but we do know Wolverine is taking the number one spot, kicking off the broadcast with extensive news and gameplay, “showing off Logan’s brutal and relentless combat” for Marvel’s Wolverine.

Marvel’s Wolverine has been heavily anticipated ever since it was revealed during the PlayStation Showcase in 2021, with no major looks at the game until last September, when the gameplay trailer was released, targeting a Fall 2026 launch. Last February, in a short 6-second video, Insomniac Games finally announced Marvel’s Wolverine would be coming on September 15, 2026.

Sony has some pretty major titles under its belt, including recently released SAROS, Helldivers 2, and the long-running racing sim, Gran Turismo 7, so there should be plenty of great announcements to look forward to. Xbox recently shared news about their next-generation console, Project Helix, so players can only hope Sony might hint at what comes after the PlayStation 5. And who knows? Maybe this year we will finally get news about a Bloodborne remake.

Looking forward to catching the next PlayStation State of Play live? Fans will just need to tune into either PlayStation’s official YouTube or Twitch channels on June 2 at 5 pm EST.
