The latest patch notes for Fortnite’s v40.20 update have been released, addressing numerous player-reported issues and introducing new content. The update aims to enhance the player experience with a variety of fixes and new events.
Key among the fixes is the restoration of the Chaos Reloader Shotgun’s auto-reload functionality, which was previously bugged. Players will now see reload progress on their item bar, and the shotgun will function as intended. Additionally, Thorne’s Vampiric Blade has been adjusted so its secondary attack no longer interferes with the jump input.
Fortnite is also launching the “Showdown Act II: The Elites” event. This event pits players against each other in a contest between two factions: Team Ice King and Team Foundation. By completing milestone goals through duels with opposing team members, players can earn rewards. The Ice King’s side appears to have an advantage, with the top-tier reward being the Reforged Infinity Blade. Team Foundation players will receive new weapon skins.
Furthermore, Fortnite has announced a collaboration with WWE. The update includes the addition of wrestling legend Stone Cold Steve Austin to the game. There are also unconfirmed rumors of Liv Morgan’s inclusion, though this remains a leak for now. The patch notes are extensive, covering a wide range of gameplay, cosmetic, and platform-specific improvements.
