Dead by Daylight has reintroduced its highly acclaimed 2v8 game mode, enhanced by the return of the Attack on Titan collection.
This limited-time event, running from April 28th to May 19th, aims to improve the 2v8 gameplay while introducing new cosmetic items inspired by the Attack on Titan universe. The initial collaboration, launched in 2022, offered 10 outfits. This iteration expands upon it with 10 entirely new outfits for both killers and survivors.
The Trapper receives a significant cosmetic update, transforming into the fearsome Attack Titan, a visually striking and powerful addition. Additionally, three new very rare survivor outfits are available for Jake Park, Yui Kimura, and Thalita Lyra, each inspired by iconic characters from the anime. Jake can embody Levi’s classic cleaning attire, Yui dons Mikasa’s post-time skip dark uniform, and Thalita takes on Sasha’s distinctive look.
Further cosmetic additions include Queen’s Ball outfits for survivors Renato Lyra, Adam Francis, Mikaela Reid, and Haddie Kaur. Feng Min and Meg Thomas will also receive the Heart of Freedom Outfit. As a special bonus, the Attack on Titan lobby makes a comeback to Dead by Daylight after an extended absence.
The 2v8 mode itself has undergone significant mechanical adjustments. The Deathslinger has received buffs to boost his effectiveness, including reduced penalties for reloading or missing shots. Conversely, the Oni has experienced a minor nerf to balance his formidable power, with an increased cooldown after downing a survivor while in demon mode.
Cage system updates are a major highlight of the 2v8 mode’s return, featuring several reworks. Survivors’ bleed-out timers will now pause when a cage is relocated, providing more opportunities for rescue. The interval between cage relocations has also been shortened to better align with the game’s tempo. Two new maps, the Temple of Purgation and Ironworks of Misery, have been added to the 2v8 map rotation.
As a final incentive, Dead by Daylight players can now earn Attack on Titan-themed rewards by completing a series of quests. These rewards include an Attack on Titan Badge, Banner, and Charm.
