Blaze Entertainment, through its HyperMegaTech! brand, has introduced two new retro-inspired handheld devices that bring back the iconic designs of the 1980s. The THEC64 Mini and The Spectrum are built upon the legacy of the Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum, respectively. These reimagined consoles feature a clamshell design reminiscent of the Nintendo 3DS, aiming to transport gamers back to the early days of video gaming.

The core concept behind these handhelds is to explore the “what if” scenario of portable versions of these home computers existing in the 1980s. Both THEC64 Mini and The Spectrum come pre-loaded with 25 titles each, with the option to expand storage via a microSD card. For an enhanced experience, attachments can be connected through USB, and a 3.5mm audio jack is included. Both consoles boast a 4.3-inch 800×480 IPS high-resolution display, a USB-C port for charging, and a set of function keys below the screen to ensure microcomputer compatibility.
