The Canadian Game Awards are fast approaching, with tickets and voting for the Fan Choice Award now open.
The sixth annual ceremony will be held at Toronto’s John W. H. Bassett Theatre on May 21st, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, to honor Canada’s gaming industry and its players. Esteemed voice actors Jennifer Hale and Mark Meer, known for their roles as Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect series, will host the event. Patricia Summersett, the voice of Princess Zelda in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, is also set to appear as a presenter.
Among the various award categories, the Fan Choice Award voting is still ongoing for the top ten nominees. Carl-Edwin Michel, Creator and Executive Producer of the Canadian Game Awards, confirmed in an interview that the Fan Choice Award and community awards are returning this year, fulfilling a promise made previously.
Michel advises attendees to arrive early to take advantage of pre-show activities. In addition to the main awards show at 8:00 PM, the Eh! Game Showcase will run from 4:00 PM to 7:45 PM, offering opportunities to play interactive games, meet developers, and engage with the industry. A pre-show reception will also take place at 7:00 PM. Michel encourages everyone to “come early and have fun with us in the community” to experience these additional offerings.
General Admission tickets for the Canadian Game Awards on May 21st are available for $37.61 CAD. However, VIP tickets, which offer elevated access, are sold out. General Admission ticket holders will still have access to most of the event’s attractions, including the hands-on games and demos at the Eh! Game Showcase, opportunities to meet developers and industry guests, and the live awards ceremony. Seating for non-VIP attendees will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
