Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana – D1 Refined Edition for Nintendo Switch is currently available at a record-low price of $35 at Amazon and Walmart. This limited-time offer marks a significant discount from its previous price of $50 (and original $60 MSRP). Released in January for both Switch and PS5, this enhanced remaster of Nihon Falcom`s action-RPG classic is a fantastic deal. While the Amazon sale might conclude soon, Walmart`s promotion is expected to run through the weekend, though stock availability is a factor.

The history of this Ys title is quite interesting. It was originally released in 1989 as Ys III: Wanderers from Ys, later remade for PSP in 2005 under the title Ys: The Oath in Felghana. The PSP remake was then ported to PC in 2012, and it`s this PC version that was remastered into the D1 Refined Edition for Nintendo Switch and PS5.
The Oath in Felghana completely revamped the original Ys III. This new edition further enhances the experience with quality-of-life improvements such as a Turbo mode, optional new character illustrations, voice acting for the protagonist Adol Christin, and three different iterations of the original soundtrack, all presented in high-quality audio.
The story follows the adventurous hero Adol and his companion Dogi as they return to Dogi`s homeland, Felghana, after an eight-year journey. They find the land plagued by deadly monsters and suffering under the rule of a greedy overlord. While Dogi departs to seek help from his former master, Adol remains to assist the locals, quickly becoming entangled in burgeoning conspiracies and ancient legacies tied to the land`s history.
It`s worth noting that the PS5 edition of Ys Memoire sold out at major retailers like Amazon and Walmart earlier this year, and there`s currently no indication of a restock. Best Buy still has copies available for PS5, but they are priced at the full $50 MSRP.
