Xbox Partner Preview 2026: Stranger Than Heaven, STALKER 2 & New Game Reveals

The highly anticipated Xbox Partner Preview is set to livestream on March 26, 2026, offering gamers a comprehensive look at both previously announced and entirely new titles. This digital event will kick off at 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM GMT, promising significant updates and fresh announcements.

Microsoft has confirmed that the preview will spotlight progress on key upcoming games, including Ryu Ga Gotoku’s intriguing project, Stranger Than Heaven, an update for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, and new insights into The Expanse: Osiris Reborn. Beyond these anticipated titles, the event is also expected to feature “first looks” and announcements for additional third-party games coming to Xbox consoles, PC, and Game Pass, with partners like Sega, GSC Game World, and Owlcat Games likely to be showcased.

Stranger Than Heaven, developed by the studio behind the renowned Like a Dragon and Yakuza series, initially surfaced under the codename Project Century at The Game Awards in December 2024. While specific details remain scarce, it is known to follow a character named Mako Daito across at least three distinct time periods in Japan. The gaming community eagerly awaits further information, including whether it will be a standalone game or integrate into an existing franchise.

This upcoming Partner Preview takes place amidst a period of significant leadership transitions within Microsoft Gaming. Long-time CEO Phil Spencer recently retired, and former Xbox president Sarah Bond also resigned. Stepping into the new role of CEO for Microsoft Gaming is Asha Sharma, previously president of Microsoft CoreAI, with Matt Booty promoted to EVP and CCO. Adding to the organizational shifts, corporate vice president Lori Wright announced her departure from the company on March 19, having played a key role in business and third-party relations.

Under Asha Sharma’s new leadership, Microsoft Gaming is reportedly focusing on re-establishing brand prominence by championing games that offer deep emotional resonance on Xbox hardware. This strategic direction is anticipated to be evident in the content presented during the Partner Preview and aligns with the future release of their next-generation console, currently known by its codename, Project Helix. Gamers can tune into the livestream via Xbox’s official YouTube and Twitch channels to catch all the announcements.
