Microsoft is rolling out an August update designed to significantly simplify resuming your games across various devices. This means your Xbox play history will now seamlessly synchronize between Xbox consoles, PC, and soon, the ROG Xbox Ally handheld, ensuring a fluid and continuous gaming experience no matter where you choose to play.
For example, if you begin a thrilling session of `Gears of War: Reloaded` on your Xbox Series X|S and later decide to switch to your PC, you can effortlessly pick up exactly where you left off from your most recent save point. This enhanced convenience also extends to cloud-streamed Game Pass titles and even classic Xbox games you own, such as the epic `The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind`. All these titles will now appear readily accessible in your recently played list.
This innovative cross-device play history feature is particularly beneficial for the highly anticipated ROG Xbox Ally handhelds, which are slated for release this October. The core appeal of these portable devices is the ability to enjoy high-quality gaming on the go, and being able to continue a game precisely from your last paused moment is a key selling point. In addition to this, Xbox is actively working on further improvements to how users can track and manage their owned game libraries, with this functionality currently in a preview phase.
However, Microsoft has not yet made an official announcement regarding the specific pricing for the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X models. While awaiting official confirmation, early speculation, fueled by previous retail listings, indicated potential price points of approximately $550 and $900 for the respective handheld devices.
