World of Tanks: Heat – A New Era for Tank Warfare

Wargaming officially announced “World of Tanks: Heat” during Gamescom Opening Night Live, presenting it as an innovative 10v10 hybrid game. This new title aims to seamlessly merge the strategic depth of tank combat, a hallmark of the World of Tanks series, with the dynamic, character-driven gameplay found in hero shooters like Overwatch.

Players will embark on battles by selecting from a diverse roster of tanks and “agents”—the game`s unique take on specialized heroes. “Heat” will feature popular multiplayer modes, including classics like Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Conquest. A significant emphasis is placed on tank customization, allowing players to enhance their vehicles with advanced weapon systems, robust armor modules, distinct visual modifications, and even battlefield-altering abilities, providing a personalized and tactical combat experience.

Marking a notable milestone for Wargaming, “World of Tanks: Heat” is set to be the developer`s first game to launch simultaneously across multiple platforms. Furthermore, it will fully support cross-play and cross-progression, ensuring that players can effortlessly switch between console and PC while retaining their progress and engaging in matches with friends across different systems.

The game will operate under a “free-to-win” monetization model. This approach ensures that while various in-game purchases will be available, they are strictly cosmetic or offer convenience, rather than providing any competitive advantages. Wargaming has clarified that their monetization strategy will primarily focus on cosmetic items, battle passes, and optional time-saving features, maintaining a fair and balanced competitive environment for all players.

“World of Tanks: Heat” is slated for release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. However, an official launch date has not yet been announced by Wargaming.
