MachineGames revitalized the iconic Wolfenstein series with Wolfenstein: The New Order in 2014, followed by Wolfenstein: The New Colossus in 2017 and the spin-off Wolfenstein: Youngblood in 2019. Despite no new main entries since the VR title Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot also in 2019, MachineGames` creative director Axel Torvenius has expressed a strong desire to develop a third main game, continuing the saga of William `B.J.` Blazkowicz.
Torvenius confirmed in a Noclip documentary that the team always envisioned the rebooted Wolfenstein narrative as a trilogy. He stated:
“We have always seen this as a [Wolfenstein] trilogy. So that journey for B.J., even during those first few weeks at id, when we mapped out New Order, we still had the plan for, at least, that character. What will happen in the second one, what will happen in the third one. So I think that`s important to say, because–at least, I hope–that we`re not done with Wolfenstein yet. We have a story to tell.”
This sentiment highlights their long-term vision for Blazkowicz`s story and the potential for the series to conclude its planned narrative arc.
While a third Wolfenstein game remains unconfirmed, Amazon is reportedly working on a Wolfenstein TV series for Prime Video. Kilter Films, known for its work on Prime Video`s Fallout series, is producing the show in collaboration with MachineGames. Although specific plot details are under wraps, it is widely believed that the series will draw inspiration from the rebooted game storyline.
MachineGames, now a Microsoft-owned studio following the ZeniMax acquisition, recently released Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. This new title carries on the tradition of combating Nazis, a thematic core shared with Wolfenstein. The first DLC, Indiana Jones And The Order Of Giants, launched this month, and a Nintendo Switch 2 port of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is planned for 2026 by MachineGames and Bethesda.
