Ironmouse, widely recognized as one of Twitch`s most successful VTubers, has announced her departure from the agency VShojo. This decision stems from allegations of significant unpaid funds and, critically, the alleged failure to donate over $515,000 she raised for the Immunodeficiency Foundation. Ironmouse had been affiliated with VShojo since November 2020.
Ironmouse lives with Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID), a rare condition that severely compromises her immune system, often confining her to bed and necessitating isolation. She began streaming as a way to connect with others, opting for an anime avatar to maintain her anonymity.
When she joined VShojo, Ironmouse aimed to leverage the agency`s support for handling payments while preserving her privacy. Since then, alongside her collaborator CDawg (Connor), she has collectively raised more than $4 million for the Immunodeficiency Foundation through various charitable events, including Twitch subathons and cycling challenges.
During her initial subathon, VShojo successfully processed a donation exceeding $329,000 to the charity. However, her second subathon in September 2024, which saw her break Twitch`s all-time subscriber record, generated over $515,000 for the Immunodeficiency Foundation. Ironmouse alleges that, a year later, VShojo has still not transferred these substantial funds to the charity.
The Immunodeficiency Foundation holds profound personal significance for Ironmouse, having provided crucial support during her own diagnosis. She expressed deep distress over the situation, stating her sole desire was to give back to the community that had aided her, and is now awaiting legal proceedings.
In a show of solidarity, other VTubers affiliated with VShojo have begun distancing themselves from the agency. Kson, another prominent VTuber, recently confirmed her exit, claiming she hasn`t received payments from VShojo since September 2024 and was repeatedly misled. Kuro also submitted a resignation contract. These events raise serious questions about a potential exodus of talent from VShojo, which has already seen multiple departures, including former CMOs and talent directors. Both former VShojo members, like Zentreya, and current members have publicly voiced their support for Ironmouse.
Ironmouse is now streaming independently and has established a direct Tiltify link for donations to the Immunodeficiency Foundation, which has already garnered over $334,000.
