Microsoft`s Halo Studios has confirmed plans to unveil their current projects during the upcoming Halo World Championships this October. This announcement reaffirms intentions first shared in June, promising a look at “what we`ve been working on.”
According to a recent blog post, the Halo Studios team will make an appearance on the main stage to discuss these developments. The event will also feature a “deep dive” panel, which the studio emphasizes as unmissable.
Both key events are scheduled for Friday, October 24. Microsoft has remained tight-lipped regarding the specifics of the announcements, not indicating whether they will involve new game titles or other facets of the franchise`s future.
Nonetheless, Microsoft has previously confirmed that it is actively developing multiple new Halo projects.
At the 2024 Halo World Championships, Microsoft presented the `A New Dawn` trailer, showcasing conceptual designs for future Halo projects built using the Unreal Engine, including `Project Foundry.` This event also marked the rebranding of 343 Industries to Halo Studios.
Halo Infinite, released in 2021, stands as the latest main entry in the series. Since its launch, Microsoft has implemented substantial changes, including a restructured executive leadership team and a shift in game engines for subsequent projects. This comes amidst acknowledgments that Halo Infinite did not fully meet its initial ambitions. Xbox head Matt Booty famously likened Halo Infinite`s launch to a runner stumbling just before the finish line.
Studio head Pierre Hintze elaborated on this strategic pivot: “Halo Infinite represented the final iteration of our previous method for creating Halo games. That was our established formula. What we are currently undertaking is a fundamental alteration of that approach.”

Reports circulating suggest that Microsoft aims to bring the Halo franchise to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, potentially as early as this year. Specifically, there are rumors of a new remaster project for Halo: Combat Evolved. With 2026 marking the 25th anniversary of both Xbox and the Halo series, Microsoft Gaming head Phil Spencer has indicated the possibility of a new Halo title launching next year, potentially alongside new Fable and Gears of War installments.
