Unlocking Rewards: A Guide to The Sieve Event in Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate

Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate introduces “The Sieve,” a new limited-time event, alongside its core content like the campaign, raid, and side missions. Participating in this event and completing its full sequence of rounds can yield substantial rewards.

Located in Kepler`s central hub, the Caldera, The Sieve is a cooperative activity designed for three players. It runs for 30 minutes, followed by a cooldown period of 1 hour and 44 minutes, requiring players to time their entry carefully.

When it goes live, you can boot into the activity from this icon on the Kepler map.
When active, you can access the activity via its icon on the Kepler map.

Upon starting The Sieve, you`ll join a Fireteam to undertake objectives centered around the Drifter`s mining rig. Players must deploy beacons for dark matter extraction within the Caldera, while simultaneously defending against enemy waves, particularly challenging `sabotage Minotaurs` capable of disrupting the mining process significantly.

Successful completion of the mining phase grants rewards and opens access to a subsequent activity, typically a boss encounter with varying difficulty. Defeating the boss yields further rewards, after which players can initiate another mining defense round.

Teams can cycle through these activities multiple times. Occasionally, a unique `mote banking` event, reminiscent of Gambit, may occur, offering potentially superior rewards. While the article`s author did not acquire Exotics during this event, community reports indicate that The Sieve can drop the new Exotic armor pieces for each class, providing an alternative acquisition method to the Legendary campaign.

Beyond its chaotic and engaging gameplay, The Sieve is also crucial for progressing the Exotic questline for the Graviton Spike. After completing the initial exploration objectives on Kepler, players must successfully finish a round of The Sieve to obtain this distinctive Arc-Void hand cannon.
