Ubisoft recently marked the 30th anniversary of the beloved Heroes of Might & Magic franchise by adding two iconic titles, Heroes of Might & Magic II: Gold and Heroes of Might & Magic III: Complete, to PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions.
The announcement was made during Ubisoft`s special 30th-anniversary showcase for the series. Chris Watters, a Ubisoft representative and former GameSpot editor, expressed enthusiasm for the move, stating it`s an excellent way to introduce new players to concepts like `throng,` `necromancy,` and `logistics` within the game`s rich vocabulary.
In other series news, the upcoming title, Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era, has seen its release pushed back to 2026. Despite the delay, a playable demo is currently accessible. This marks the first new entry in the franchise since Might & Magic Heroes 7 was released in 2015.
Additionally, the anniversary livestream promoted the Heroes of Might & Magic: 30th Anniversary Retrospective book, which is available for pre-order at $55 and is set to be released on November 25.
Separately, Laura Fryer, an original member of the Xbox team, recently criticized Microsoft`s Game Pass price increase, calling it a “betrayal” of gamer trust. She also suggested that this current Xbox console generation might primarily be remembered for “Microsoft`s greed.”
