To commemorate its 20th anniversary this year, Tim Burton`s celebrated stop-motion animated film, Corpse Bride, is set for a special limited-edition 4K Steelbook Blu-ray release. The film embodies Burton`s distinctive style, featuring a dark aesthetic, a score by Danny Elfman, and iconic voice performances by Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. This special 4K Steelbook edition of Corpse Bride is scheduled for release on September 23, with pre-orders currently priced at $45.49.
Initially, pre-orders were available at $35 in early July. There is a possibility the price may decrease again before the official launch. Customers are not charged until their order ships and will automatically benefit from any price reductions that occur prior to release.
The design for the Corpse Bride Limited Edition 4K Steelbook Blu-ray features a minimalist black exterior, contrasting with a vibrant interior illustration depicting the Corpse Bride and other key characters. While a definitive list of bonus features is not yet available, it is anticipated to include supplementary materials from previous Blu-ray and DVD editions, such as behind-the-scenes documentaries, art galleries, and an isolated music track featuring Danny Elfman`s score.
Corpse Bride tells the macabre story of Victor Van Dort, voiced by Johnny Depp, a young man reluctantly entering an arranged marriage with Victoria Everglot, voiced by Emily Watson. Through a series of unfortunate events, Victor inadvertently weds Emily, a deceased woman voiced by Helena Bonham Carter. He must then navigate the Land of the Dead to find a way back to the living and assist Emily in finding peace.
Tim Burton`s extensive filmography, spanning various genres and decades, consistently showcases his unique stylistic and visual flair. Burton`s directorial career began with Pee-Wee`s Big Adventure, followed by a string of cult classics in the 1980s and 90s, including A Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, and Mars Attacks!. Both are included in a four-film 4K Blu-ray collection, which also features Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.
