The Rogue Prince of Persia Makes Surprise Console Debut

Ubisoft`s highly anticipated title, The Rogue Prince of Persia, has unexpectedly arrived on consoles today, following its initial PC release via Steam Early Access in 2024. This exciting launch means the game is now available to subscribers of Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra.

The console rollout was officially announced by Ubisoft during a recent Xbox Gamescom livestream. Gamers can now dive into the adventure on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and PlayStation 5. Furthermore, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 owners can look forward to its arrival later this year.

This console debut coincides with the game`s official 1.0 release, also taking place today, August 20th. Ubisoft confirmed that “After more than a year in early access, incorporating over 15 significant updates based on community feedback, completely revamping the art direction and color palette, introducing new biomes, weapons, and trinkets, and enhancing metaprogression, the game is now in its complete form for everyone to enjoy.”

Developed by Evil Empire, renowned for their work on the critically acclaimed Dead Cells, and published by Ubisoft, The Rogue Prince of Persia garnered positive reception during its Early Access phase, including a commendable 8/10 score from GameSpot`s review.

The game transports players to the historic city of Ctesiphon, where they assume the role of a bold prince who inadvertently provokes the powerful Hun army. As the Hun chief, Nogai, unleashes his possessed soldiers to devastate Ctesiphon, the prince must defend his city. His unique ability to manipulate time through a mystical artifact allows him to evade permanent death, enabling repeated attempts to overcome his formidable foes.

Beyond The Rogue Prince of Persia, Xbox Game Pass subscribers have more to anticipate in August, with other notable additions including Gears of War: Reloaded, Persona 4: Golden, Void/Breaker, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard, among others.
