Terminator 2D: No Fate – Release Postponed to October 31st

Bitmap Bureau`s highly anticipated side-scrolling game, “Terminator 2D: No Fate,” which draws its inspiration from the iconic 1991 film “Terminator 2: Judgment Day,” will not be launching in early September as initially planned. Reef Entertainment, the game`s publisher, has confirmed a slight postponement of its release.

According to updates shared via Reef Entertainment`s social media platforms, the new official launch date for “Terminator 2D: No Fate” is now set for October 31st, aligning with Halloween. This decision was made to allow Bitmap Bureau additional time for crucial “day one patch” refinements. Consequently, both the physical and digital editions of the game will be released simultaneously on the new date.

Information regarding the game`s physical editions was first unveiled earlier this year. A standard edition is available for $60. For collectors, a special $120 edition includes a reversible box art sleeve, a distinctive cloth poster, a 25mm collectible metal arcade coin adorned with the game`s logo, a comprehensive full-color manual, and a specially designed collector’s box.

In terms of gameplay, the narrative largely focuses on the efforts of Sarah Connor and the heroic T-800 unit. Players will step into these roles to protect a young John Connor from the relentless T-1000, all while striving to prevent Skynet and its machines from annihilating the human race. A novel addition allows players to take control of an adult John Connor during certain levels set within the future war against Skynet.

“Terminator 2D: No Fate” is scheduled for release on October 31st across a wide range of platforms, including Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

While the most recent cinematic installment in the franchise, “Terminator: Dark Fate” (2019), faced a disappointing box office reception, James Cameron, the visionary director behind the first two seminal “Terminator” films, has hinted at his own new project within the universe. Furthermore, Netflix premiered its animated series, “Terminator Zero,” in 2024, continuing the franchise`s legacy across different media.
