In the vast world of *Satisfactory*, where the player battles nature and corporate ambition alone, companionship is essential. Thankfully, the Lizard Doggo is available to offer company. Even if you prefer solitude, maintaining a pen of these creatures is highly beneficial due to the resources they provide.
What Are Lizard Doggos?
Lizard Doggos are small, friendly-looking reptilian creatures resembling Beagle dogs, featuring scales and protective back armor. When wild, they are completely non-aggressive but will quickly flee if approached too abruptly or carelessly.
How to Tame a Lizard Doggo
Taming a Lizard Doggo requires a few Paleberries—the raspberry-like fruit found widely across the map. If you are using Blade Runners, remove them first, and switch your movement to slow (usually done by holding the Shift key). Locate a Doggo and wait until it stops moving and looks directly at you.
At this moment, open your inventory and drop a single Paleberry onto the ground. It is critical that you remain completely still. The Doggo will cautiously approach and consume the berry. After it finishes eating, slowly move closer. A prompt to pet the creature (E key) should appear. Success confirms you have gained a loyal companion.

Caring for Your Companion
Lizard Doggos are slow and lack environmental awareness, making them unsuitable for exploration; they cannot keep pace with anything faster than a walking speed. They are vulnerable to hostile mobs and poisonous gas, though they possess immunity to radiation. A significant danger is their worrying tendency to wander off the nearest cliff.
To ensure their safety, transport them immediately back to your base and construct an enclosure. It is crucial that the pen floor has a foundation layer to prevent the animals from despawning. Since they cannot jump and their maximum climb height is only one meter, low walls are sufficient for containment. Creative builders can incorporate grass areas while concealing the necessary foundation beneath.
The Benefits of Doggo Keeping
The primary benefit of keeping Doggos is their random item generation. Each Doggo possesses a single inventory slot where it will randomly produce one of 46 possible items at various intervals. While this process is currently manual—as there are no options for automatic farming or breeding—a large group of Doggos can be a significant source of valuable resources, such as Purple Power Slugs or Nuke Nobelisks.
With a pen full of Doggos, you can generate quite a few rare items in short order. This manual collection process is well worth the effort when considering the potential for high-value resources.
