Haemimont Games and Paradox Interactive have unveiled “Surviving Mars: Relaunched,” a remastered edition of their acclaimed sci-fi strategy city-builder. This upcoming version promises significant improvements, including enhanced graphics, a redesigned user interface, and compelling new content not present in the original game.
A key addition is the “Martian Assembly” feature, which introduces distinct colony factions. Colonists will now possess their own agendas and demands, enabling players to establish laws and policies, and even pursue complete independence from Earth. A major highlight of this remaster is its expansive mod support, designed to function across all platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Beyond the base game, Surviving Mars: Relaunched will encompass all previously released downloadable content. This includes every major and minor expansion, various cosmetic items, and all radio stations. The game will launch at a price of $40. However, players who already own the original game can purchase the remaster at a discounted price of $20, provided the purchase is made on the same platform as their original ownership.
Initially released in 2018, Surviving Mars was met with generally positive reviews. It was praised for its strong design choices and captivating aesthetics, though some aspects of its gameplay mechanics could have benefited from clearer explanations.
While a specific release date for Surviving Mars: Relaunched remains unannounced, merely stated as “coming soon,” it is confirmed for release on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S upon its official launch.
