Stephanie Beatriz Reflects on Twisted Metal’s Lasting Mark

Stephanie Beatriz, the actress known for the series “Twisted Metal,” revealed that filming left an indelible mark on her – both physical scars and profound personal experiences she endured while working on the first season.

During a roundtable interview on the “Twisted Metal” set in Toronto, Beatriz spoke about a significant scar on her left ankle, sustained during the first season. She explained that she was moving too quickly across the front of a car, and one of the large spikes severely injured her.

“It literally tore my leg,” Beatriz shared, adding that the resulting scar will remain with her forever. “I will always remember this show,” she emphasized.

Beyond physical injuries, Beatriz noted that filming both seasons left an emotional imprint due to significant life events. In August 2021, the actress became a mother, and by May of the following year, she began filming the first season of “Twisted Metal.” Just two months later, in July 2022, she learned of her father`s terminal illness, and he passed away shortly thereafter.

“There was a complete turmoil in my head; I constantly asked myself, `How do I get through each day?`” she recalled.

Regarding the second season, Beatriz clarified that she doesn`t necessarily feel more “focused” on set, but the major personal events no longer compete for her attention as intensely as they did in Season 1. Nevertheless, the actress admitted feeling some guilt about being away from her young child.

“I believe an actor`s job is to be able to separate what`s happening at home, in their personal life, from what`s happening on set,” she stated. “I hope I did a good job of it in Season 1, but in Season 2, I feel much more guilt because I`m away from my child, and she`s no longer just a `larva`.”

The second season of “Twisted Metal” is set to premiere on July 31st on the Peacock streaming platform.
