Stellar Blade’s Latest Patch Hinders PC Launch for Some Players

Shift Up Corporation has rolled out a new update, version 1.3.0, for Stellar Blade on both PC and PS5, bringing various enhancements and bug corrections. However, a significant number of PC players are reporting difficulties launching the game via Steam after applying this latest patch.

Despite the patch notes highlighting numerous quality-of-life improvements, PC users are expressing frustration over the inability to start the game. Comments on Steam forums reveal widespread issues, with one player noting, “The game won`t load now… I was playing 20 minutes before the update and now it won`t launch.” Another user added, “I downloaded the 1.3.0 patch and ran the game, but it suddenly stopped working. Reinstalling didn`t help either, yet it worked perfectly before.”

In response to these reported problems, a Stellar Blade developer, identified as `Wolfcastle` on Steam, suggested a potential solution: “If you are having issues launching the game after updating, there may be an incompatibility with UE4SS or a mod you are using. Please try completely removing these files and seeing if the issue persists.” Yet, some players found this suggestion ineffective, even after removing all mods. As of now, Shift Up has not officially addressed the launch issues. Nevertheless, a temporary workaround has been proposed by a user on the Stellar Blade subreddit, involving specific edits to the UE4SS files within the game`s directory.

Beyond the reported fixes, patch 1.3.0 also introduces an upgraded Photo Mode. Players should also note that enabling FSR frame generation now requires a game restart. The complete patch notes for both PC and PS5 are detailed below.
