Bethesda continues to invest in its 2023 space RPG, Starfield. Tim Lamb, the lead creative producer, recently revealed in a video that players can anticipate numerous future updates, including a second story DLC.
“I`m truly excited for players to discover what our team has been developing,” Lamb stated. “We have exciting content on the horizon, comprising free updates and features highly requested by the community, alongside another story expansion. While I can`t disclose all specifics just yet, I can share that a portion of our team is dedicated to enhancing space gameplay, aiming to make interstellar journeys more fulfilling. We`re also introducing new game systems and several other minor enhancements.”
The first narrative expansion for Starfield, titled “Shattered Space,” launched in September 2024, introducing a new planet, additional weaponry, and gear. Details regarding the forthcoming second story DLC remain undisclosed.
Lamb refrained from commenting on persistent rumors surrounding Starfield`s future, such as potential versions for PlayStation 5 and Switch 2. A recent report from a credible leaker suggested Starfield might arrive on PS5 and Switch 2 in 2026, though this information is currently unconfirmed.
Beyond its continuous commitment to Starfield, Bethesda Game Studios is also actively developing The Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5. Their most recent launch, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, is notably the second best-selling game in the US for 2025.
