Starfield Reportedly Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5

According to recent rumors, Bethesda`s highly anticipated sci-fi RPG, Starfield, might be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 console. This speculation was fueled by insider NateTheHate, who suggests the game is slated for a 2026 release, potentially aligning with the debut of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on the same platform.

The official announcement at Gamescom Opening Night Live confirmed that the adventure title Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will indeed launch on Switch 2 in 2026. NateTheHate further asserts that Starfield will follow suit, and importantly, also arrive on PlayStation 5. This claim resonates with persistent rumors regarding a multiplatform release for the RPG since its initial launch in 2023. A separate report from earlier this month specifically points to a spring 2026 release for the PlayStation 5 version.

While Bethesda has not yet provided official confirmation regarding Starfield`s availability beyond Xbox and PC, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has previously voiced his commitment to supporting the Switch 2. The decision to bring the acclaimed Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to Nintendo`s new console is widely perceived as a strategic first move by the publisher to expand its presence.

Bethesda has a well-established history of porting its titles to Nintendo`s ecosystem, with successful releases on the original Switch including fan favorites like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Doom Eternal, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Moreover, Activision, now under Microsoft`s ownership, has pledged to release Call of Duty games on Nintendo platforms, though no specific details, such as the arrival of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on Switch 2, have been revealed.

The potential launches of Starfield and Indiana Jones on Switch 2 will undoubtedly spark considerable interest in how current-generation titles will perform on a handheld device. It`s worth noting that even on the lower-end Xbox Series S, Starfield offers multiple performance modes, including both 30fps and 60fps options. For dedicated Starfield players, the introduction of a Switch 2 version could also signify that Bethesda intends to allocate additional resources and attention to the game`s ongoing development and support.
