Although development on Stardew Valley slowed down this year as creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone focused on his new game, Haunted Chocolatier, it doesn`t mean it`s fading into obscurity. On the contrary, Stardew Valley will surprise players by announcing an upcoming crossover with the game Infinity Nikki, as revealed in a fresh trailer.
The trailer opens with an image of Junimos – cute, apple-like creatures that help with farm chores. Then, a strawberry-shaped asteroid appears and crash-lands. After inspection, the asteroid explodes, sending one of the Junimos into Infinity Nikki`s 3D world. Despite its charm, the trailer doesn`t reveal many details.
While the exact in-game appearance of this collaboration remains unknown, its launch date has been set: September 1st. On this very day, Infinity Nikki will receive its major 1.9 update, dubbed “Music Season.” The full scope of version 1.9 is yet to be unveiled, but it is known to introduce a “Home” feature, allowing players to furnish their own house on a secluded island.
This year, Infinity Nikki faced some controversy due to an unpopular update, particularly what some players considered aggressive monetization practices. Conversely, Stardew Valley recently earned the title of the highest-rated game of all time on Steam, indicating a contrasting player reception.
