Skate Game Attracts Over 2 Million Players, Critical Bug Resolved by Developers

Since its highly anticipated debut on September 16, EA`s latest installment in the Skate series has rapidly gained immense popularity. Within its initial 24 hours of availability, the game, which marks the franchise`s return after a 15-year hiatus, successfully drew in over 2 million players, a remarkable achievement confirmed by the developers themselves.

Developer`s Enthusiastic Welcome

The dedicated development team conveyed their profound excitement and gratitude, stating, “We`re absolutely thrilled to extend a warm welcome to everyone diving into San Vansterdam! We sincerely appreciate your patience as we diligently work to scale our servers, ensuring they can keep pace with the incredible demand and excitement. Keep shredding, and we`ll definitely see you out there on the ramps!”

Currently, Skate is offered as a free-to-play early access title, readily available across PC and various console platforms. Future plans include expanding its reach to iOS and Android mobile devices. Notably, there are no immediate plans for a version compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2.

Even though the base game is free, EA provides players with optional cosmetic and bonus items through Founder`s Packs. These include a standard edition priced at $25 and a more comprehensive Deluxe version available for $50. While some early access games tend to increase their price upon reaching their full 1.0 release, EA has assured players that Skate will maintain its free-to-play model when the official launch occurs, which is anticipated in approximately one year.

Significant Bug Resolution

Beyond the initial challenges related to server stability that were observed during the game`s launch day, players identified and reported a critical `soft lock` bug. This pervasive issue unfortunately prevented many users from progressing beyond specific stages or areas within the game. Developer Full Circle swiftly acknowledged the problem and has since successfully implemented a fix, addressing this crucial impediment to player progression.
