Silent Hill f’s Explosive Launch Outperforms Silent Hill 2 Remake

Konami`s highly anticipated Silent Hill f, a new entry in the beloved horror franchise, has achieved remarkable success since its launch this month. Konami announced that the game surpassed one million units sold within its initial 24 hours on the market.

These sales encompass both physical and digital copies across all available platforms, including PC and consoles. This performance is notably faster than the 2024 Silent Hill 2 remake, which took three days to reach the same one-million-unit milestone. Early access was granted to players who purchased special editions of Silent Hill f, potentially contributing to its swift initial uptake.

Silent Hill f was developed by NeoBards Entertainment, contrasting with Bloober Team`s development of the Silent Hill 2 remake. The latest installment is set in 1960s Japan, focusing on protagonist Hinako Shimizu as she navigates intricate puzzles and confronts terrifying creatures.

“Silent Hill f represents more than just a successful revival; it`s a significant evolution. It stands as a visual marvel, an expertly crafted psychological horror experience, a testament to narrative excellence, and a new standard for the Silent Hill franchise.”

While no further Silent Hill game titles have been officially revealed, a film adaptation titled “Return to Silent Hill” is slated for a 2026 release. Christophe Gans, who directed the 2006 Silent Hill movie, is at the helm once again. The year 2026 is also set to bring a new Resident Evil movie, directed by Zach Cregger.
