Significant Savings on Five LEGO Batman Sets Before They Retire

Enthusiasts of Batman can find substantial discounts on an exciting LEGO set based on The Dark Knight film series, currently available at Amazon and Walmart. Specifically, the 713-piece LEGO Batman Construction Figure & Bat-Pod building kit is presently priced at $40, a notable reduction from its original $65, across both major retailers. This offer is part of Walmart`s `Bricktember` LEGO sales event, which is set to conclude at the end of September. While it`s possible this particular LEGO Batman deal might extend beyond September, it`s highly advisable not to count on it, especially since LEGO has confirmed the discontinuation of this set.

The Batman Construction Figure & Bat-Pod Bike is among five discounted Batman sets that LEGO has designated as `retiring soon.` This classification implies that once the current inventory is sold out, retailers are unlikely to receive any new stock. While the other three sets may not feature such steep price reductions, shoppers can still enjoy approximately 20% savings on them at Amazon and Walmart. Furthermore, the impressive 4,210-piece Batman: The Animated Series wall art is also available with a $20 discount at Amazon.

LEGO Batman Sets: Retiring Soon

  • Batman Construction Figure & Bat-Pod Bike (713 pieces) — $40
  • Batman: The Animated Series Batmobile (435 pieces) — $48
  • Batman Mech Armor (140 pieces) — $12
  • Batman Batmobile vs. Mr. Freeze (63 pieces) — $16
  • Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City (4,210 pieces) — $280.62

Detailed Look at Retiring Sets

LEGO DC Batman Construction Figure & Bat-Pod Bike (713 Pieces)

Introduced in 2024, this 713-piece Batman kit offers a 2-in-1 experience, featuring both a buildable action figure and the iconic Bat-Pod Bike. This unique vehicle was famously ridden by Christian Bale`s Batman through Gotham City in The Dark Knight (2008) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012).

The 10-inch Batman Construction Figure is designed to stand independently and boasts numerous articulated joints, allowing for dynamic posing of its arms, legs, hips, shoulders, and head. The accompanying Bat-Pod Bike is equipped with functional rubber wheels and a pair of stud launchers.

It`s worth noting that this isn`t LEGO`s first Batman action figure; a Batman Returns Construction Figure was released in 2023. Unfortunately, that 275-piece set is now out of print and typically fetches around $40 on the secondary market. The Batman & Bat-Pod Bike set made its debut alongside the 140-piece Batman Mech Armor figure. The 4.5-inch mech features articulated joints and a cockpit designed to accommodate the included Batman minifigure. The LEGO Batman Mech Armor set is available for $12, and this set is also slated for retirement soon.

LEGO DC Batman Mech Armor (140 Pieces)

While smaller than the Batman figure bundled with the Bat-Pod Bike, the LEGO Batman Mech Armor essentially functions as another buildable action figure. This 4.5-inch mech boasts movable shoulders, arms, legs, and hips, alongside a cockpit hatch that securely encloses the included minifigure. The mech is armed with a built-in stud launcher, two Batarangs, a jetpack, and a movable two-piece cape. The Batman minifigure itself features a fabric cape.

This 140-piece LEGO Batman Mech Armor set is currently available for just $12.

LEGO DC Batman: The Animated Series Batmobile (435 Pieces)

Officially titled `Batman with the Batmobile vs. Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze,` this 435-piece set, much like the Batman Figure & Bat-Pod and Batman Mech sets, was released in June 2024.

Upon completion, the model measures 11 inches in length and includes a display stand that offers 360-degree rotation. This stand, combined with an included nameplate, positions the set as one of LEGO`s unique hybrid play-and-display models. While the build itself is recommended for ages eight and up, LEGO clearly acknowledged the significant adult fanbase of the animated series.

The Batmobile features several interactive elements, including an exhaust-flame component that spins as the wheels turn, a pair of removable stud launchers, and a cockpit hatch that opens to reveal a control panel and a seat for a single minifigure. The Batman minifigure in this set sports a molded cape, while the two villain minifigures, Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze, come with their signature accessories: a giant hammer for Harley and a stud launcher for Mr. Freeze.

LEGO DC Batman & Batmobile vs. Mr. Freeze (63 Pieces)

Designed as part of LEGO`s lineup for children aged four and up, this 63-piece Batman set includes a compact Batmobile and two minifigures: Batman, armed with a Batarang, and Mr. Freeze, wielding an ice shooter. Young builders can simulate `freezing` the Batmobile by attaching ice diamonds to its wheels.

In addition to the small Batmobile (measuring approximately 2 x 4 x 2 inches), this playset also features a miniature ice station where Mr. Freeze can reload his ice shooter and grab a popsicle. Given that all other four-and-up building sets have already been retired, it`s highly probable that LEGO is developing a new Batman set specifically for preschoolers.

Fans of The Dark Knight trilogy also have the opportunity to construct a smaller model of the Batmobile Tumbler from the films by acquiring the 429-piece Batman Tumbler vs. Two-Face & The Joker LEGO set, priced at $48. This particular set includes three minifigures and a Bat-Signal accessory. It stands as one of five distinct Batmobile sets presently available on store shelves. Among the others, two not yet detailed are larger, more intricate builds. The most recent addition to this impressive lineup is the 909-piece Batman Forever Batmobile, which made its debut in August and retails for $100. For seasoned builders and dedicated collectors, The Classic TV Series Batmobile, an elaborate 1,822-piece LEGO display model launched last fall, comes highly recommended.

Even some recently retired Batman vehicle sets can still be found at prices closely matching their original retail value. For example, the 641-piece LEGO Technic Batcycle, inspired by The Batman (2021) film, is available for $45.88, while the 357-piece Batwing can be purchased for $43.49.

The two largest LEGO Batman sets currently on offer diverge from the prevalent vehicle-centric theme. The magnificent 4,210-piece Batman: The Animated Series model intricately re-creates Gotham City`s iconic skyline as a stunning piece of 3D wall art. This impressive set is presently offered at approximately a 10% discount on Amazon, bringing its price down to $280.62. Once fully assembled, the model measures 17 x 30 x 3 inches and offers versatility, allowing it to be either mounted on a wall or showcased using its integrated stand.

The very latest LEGO Batman release is the substantial 2,953-piece Arkham Asylum display model. This exceptionally detailed model comes complete with 16 minifigures and is, at this time, exclusively available through the official LEGO Store.
