Shrooms Confirmed for Schedule 1 After Community Vote

Schedule 1, a highly-rated early-access drug dealing simulator available on Steam, is preparing to introduce a new drug type following a recent community voting initiative.

In an official announcement on Steam, developer TVGS revealed that `shrooms` have been chosen as the game`s fourth unique drug type. This decision came after `shrooms` garnered over 269,000 votes in a recent player poll. Other potential features that players could vote for included adding drivers, which received 139,000 votes, and fishing, with 85,000 votes. TVGS confirmed that these unselected options would be presented again in future community polls.

The integration of shrooms into the game will bring a distinct production process, new specialized equipment usable for both shrooms and other existing drug types, additional ingredients, and the introduction of new customer demographics, as stated by TVGS.

Regarding the update`s release, TVGS anticipates it will arrive sometime between mid-October and late November. The developers noted this release window is “quite open-ended” to prevent potential delays and to ensure sufficient time for the game`s Halloween update, scheduled for October 31.

Schedule 1 was initially launched in March 2025, offering players the opportunity to construct a drug-dealing empire from scratch. Its most recent update, `Rival Cartels,` released in August, introduced the ability to compete against an opposing drug cartel, the Benzies family. This update brought new gameplay mechanics such as cartel deals, ambushes, dealer robberies, and dead drop thefts. It also added a new purchasable property, the Hyland Manor, which becomes available after successfully completing the Benzies family storyline.

According to the game`s Steam Early Access FAQ, Schedule 1 is projected to remain in early access for approximately two years. During this period, plans include expanding the game`s map, adding more drug types, and introducing various “fun things” for players to spend their in-game currency on. TVGS indicated that the price of Schedule 1 might experience a “slight” increase upon its full release from early access. Currently, the game is available for $20.
