Milestone is celebrating the global launch of Screamer with a special event at the GAMM Museum in Rome on March 26. This occasion marks the return of one of the most iconic intellectual properties in Italian video game history, thirty years after its debut.
The new incarnation of Screamer features a cel-shaded anime aesthetic, a cyberpunk setting, combat mechanics, and a deep narrative inspired by 80s and 90s manga. The game has been lauded as “adrenaline-pumping, vibrant, and decidedly ambitious, […] one of the freshest racing games in recent years.”

The highlight of the event will be an unprecedented exhibition showcasing 30 original works, including preparatory sketches, concept art, and final artwork, illustrating the creative process behind Screamer. Curated by Massimo Triulzi (Director of the GAMM Museum) and supported by Milestone, the exhibition will run until the end of April and aims to highlight video games as an art form.
THE PANEL: DEVELOPERS SHARE SCREAMER’S STORY
An open panel discussion will feature the Milestone development team recounting the genesis of Screamer, from the creative challenges faced in reinventing a cult title after three decades to the philosophy that guided the choice of a Japanese anime aesthetic. The conversation will be moderated by Eva Carducci, a renowned film critic and influencer.
THE COMIC: ‘LOSS, A SCREAMER STORY’
Coinciding with the launch, Milestone commissioned “LOSS, A SCREAMER STORY,” an original comic by Matteo De Longis that expands the game’s narrative universe, consistent with its manga and anime inspirations. De Longis will be present to discuss his work and sign exclusive prints.
THE DJ SET: DJ LaBlonde plays Screamer Soundtrack
The evening will conclude with a DJ Set by DJ LaBlonde, featuring the soundtrack of Screamer.
