Magic: The Gathering enthusiasts and devoted Lord of the Rings fans have a unique opportunity to acquire select Tales of Middle-earth Commander Decks at discounted prices on Amazon. Specifically, the Riders of Rohan deck is available for $40, and the Elven Council Commander Deck for $42. These prices reflect significant savings, especially considering the decks originally launched in June 2023 at $70. While Amazon restocked all four Tales of Middle-earth Commander Decks at around $50 in early September, the Riders of Rohan and Elven Council are currently the only ones available, with others fetching higher prices from third-party sellers.
Currently available Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth Commander Decks:
- Riders of Rohan Commander Deck: $39.95 (originally $50)
- Elven Council Commander Deck: $41.95 (originally $50)
- Food and Fellowship Commander Deck: Currently unavailable
- The Hosts of Mordor Commander Deck: Currently unavailable
Each Commander Deck is a complete 100-card set, themed around The Lord of the Rings, and features 20 exclusive cards not found in other Lord of the Rings MTG releases. Additionally, these decks come with a foil-etched display version of the Commander card, a Collector Booster Sample Pack containing two cards (one rare or higher foil/special treatment, and one foil common/uncommon special treatment), a deck box, ten double-sided tokens, a Helper card, a Life Wheel, a strategy guide, and a reference card.
The availability and pricing of Tales of Middle-earth and other Lord of the Rings MTG products often fluctuate, primarily due to reliance on third-party sellers. While Tales of Middle-earth Scene Boxes are generally easier to find at stable prices, securing Commander Decks at their original retail value can be more challenging.

Recent and Upcoming Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond Crossover Sets
The current year has seen a remarkable influx of crossover sets in Magic: The Gathering. The Final Fantasy set, for instance, achieved record-breaking sales even before its June launch. While many Final Fantasy MTG items are now scarce at standard prices, Commander Decks and Starter Kits are still obtainable. Pre-orders for Final Fantasy Scene Boxes and a Chocobo Bundle recently sold out quickly. Marvel`s Spider-Man also entered the Magic: The Gathering universe on September 26. Initially hard to find, Spider-Man Play Booster Boxes, along with Bundles and Scene Boxes, are now more readily available.
Concluding the year`s new crossover releases is Avatar: The Last Airbender, set to launch on November 21. Initial pre-orders in August were met with high demand, leading to most products selling out rapidly. However, as of early October, the Play Booster Box, Beginner Box, and Jumpstart Booster Box were confirmed to be in stock.
Additionally, two video game-themed Universes Beyond sets from 2024 are available. The Fallout Commander Deck Bundle is currently offered at $155, a near-record low price. Fans of Assassin`s Creed can acquire the Beyond Booster Box for $100, marking its lowest price to date for the 24-pack booster box.
