Prototype Remaster Speculation Heats Up After Fans Discover Updated Credits

Enthusiasts of the game Prototype are speculating about a potential remaster after recent online discoveries revealed several significant updates to the game.

Observations on SteamDB and recent data-mining efforts (shared by the Prototype community on Reddit) indicate that the game`s credits have been revised. These revisions now list Iron Galaxy and Ubisoft Connect, noting hundreds of new entries, including mentions of `downloadable content` and specific teams for a `Ubisoft Connect Version.`

It`s worth recalling that Microsoft transferred Activision`s cloud-gaming rights to Ubisoft following its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. A Reddit user, StanleyMitchel, further noted:

“For Prototype 1, they have added some test maps and quite a few new names in the credits. There might be some hope for a remaster after all.”

Originally launched in 2009, Prototype immersed players in the shoes of Alex Mercer, an amnesiac bioweapon driven to unravel his mysterious origins. The narrative unfolded against the backdrop of a New York City grappling with a severe quarantine due to the Blacklight virus outbreak, placing Mercer squarely amidst a conflict between the infected population and a clandestine US military unit committed to virus containment.

Its follow-up, Prototype 2, came out in 2012, introducing a new lead character, the ex-US soldier James Heller. The series has remained inactive since its port to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles in 2015.
