Pokemon TCG Pocket’s Next Expansion Brings Easier Access to Rare Cards

The highly anticipated “Deluxe Pack ex” expansion for Pokemon TCG Pocket is slated for release on September 29. This exciting new collection offers players a significant advantage by guaranteeing at least one rare card in every single pack. However, in a notable departure from previous releases, this special expansion will only be obtainable for a limited duration.

According to official details provided on the Pokemon website, each “Deluxe Pack ex” pack is confirmed to include “one card with a rarity of ♦♦♦♦ or higher,” sourced from earlier expansions ranging from Genetic Apex to Wisdom of Sea and Sky. Beyond these improved rarity rates, the expansion is also introducing visually striking “parallel foil” cards, characterized by a unique shimmering effect. Furthermore, fans can look forward to collecting beloved older cards that have been re-imagined with brand new artwork.

As highlighted, the “Deluxe Pack ex” set will be available for purchase only until October 29. This provides players with a focused one-month window to capitalize on the enhanced odds of acquiring rare cards and to enrich their digital card collections. To further engage the community during this period, Pokemon TCG Pocket has scheduled several in-game events, including a dedicated Raichu ex drop event and a special Bonus Week event.

Since its official launch last October, Pokemon TCG Pocket has consistently released new expansions on a monthly basis. The most recent set, Secluded Springs, arrived in August, primarily featuring cards inspired by Pokemon from the classic Gold and Silver versions of the game. Looking ahead, Mega Evolutions are also planned to make their debut in the game sometime this fall, although a definitive release date for this particular set has not yet been announced.

Mega Evolutions are also set to play a pivotal role in the upcoming mainline title, Pokemon Legends: Z-A. This new installment is scheduled to launch on October 16 for both Nintendo Switch and the anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. The game promises to innovate the series` traditional formula with a completely re-envisioned battle system and is set entirely within the vibrant Lumiose City.
