Trainers can look forward to the debut of several Pokémon, such as Gigantamax Butterfree and Shadow Kyogre. Additionally, the formidable Origin Form Dialga and Palkia will make a special, limited appearance during an exclusive Raid Day.

August Raid Schedule

A host of new raid bosses will be appearing in gyms throughout August.
The legendary Pokémon Lugia and Ho-Oh are set to return to five-star raids during the first half of the month, followed by Necrozma towards the end of August. Mega raids will feature Mega forms of Ampharos, Slowbro, Pidgeot, and Salamence. Additionally, Shadow Regirock will be a consistent presence in special Shadow Raids every weekend.

Pokemon Go will highlight a different selection of Pokémon each week throughout August.
Every Tuesday evening, from 6-7 PM local time, a specific Pokémon species will appear with increased frequency in the wild. This offers an excellent opportunity to expand your Pokedex and accumulate essential candy. Participating in these events will also grant you an additional bonus, such as double XP or Stardust for catching Pokémon.

Gigantamax Butterfree Max Battle Day

Gigantamax Butterfree will make its Pokemon Go debut during a special Max Battle Day on August 3.
This Gigantamax Pokémon will appear as a six-star Max Battle boss from 2-5 PM local time. Several bonuses will also be active during these event hours: Power Spots will distribute eight times the usual amount of Max Particles, and the maximum number of Max Particles you can collect will be temporarily increased to 1,600.

Combee and Swirlix will be the stars of the Sweet Swarm event, running from August 3-6.
You`ll have a chance to catch these featured Pokémon by completing Timed Research tasks on different days of the event. Completing these tasks will also reward you with items like Stardust and Pinap Berries. As an added benefit, any Lure Modules you activate during the event will last for one hour and will be more likely to attract both featured Pokémon.

Cozy Companions

Despite it being summer, two new Ice-type Pokémon will debut during the Cozy Companions event, held from August 6-12.
The snow worm Pokémon Snom is among several Pokémon that may hatch from 7 km eggs during this event. To evolve a Snom into Frosmoth, you will need to earn 10 hearts with Snom as your buddy and then use 400 Snom candy.
Other Pokémon like Galarian Farfetch`d and Charcadet will also hatch from 7 km eggs, while Abra, Alolan Geodude, and Karrablast will appear more frequently in the wild. A new set of Field and Timed Research tasks will also be available, providing more opportunities to encounter the featured Pokémon.

Ultra Unlock: Origin Raid Day

Origin Form Dialga and Palkia are making a return for a special Raid Day on August 10.
These two legendary Pokémon will appear as five-star raid bosses from 11 AM to 5 PM. Furthermore, you`ll have an increased chance of encountering shiny versions of both Dialga and Palkia.

Team Go Rocket will once again be causing disruption during the Delightful Days: Taken Over event, running from August 11-17.
Throughout the event, Team Go Rocket grunts will appear more frequently at PokeStops and in balloons, commanding a new selection of Shadow Pokémon, including Shadow Staryu, Shadow Fletchling, and Shadow Grubbin.
In addition, Shadow Pokémon will feature in various raids, including the debut of Shadow Kyogre. A new Special Research story will also be available, culminating in a battle with Giovanni. Defeating the nefarious Team Go Rocket leader will grant you a chance to rescue Shadow Giratina.

Pokemon World Championships Go Battle Weekend

Coinciding with the 2025 Pokemon World Championships, Pokemon Go will host a Go Battle Weekend from August 15-17.
As part of this event, a new costumed Pikachu, sporting a varsity jacket, will be introduced. You`ll have a chance to encounter this Pikachu in one-star raids and by completing Field Research tasks.
Other Pokémon like Paldean Wooper, Frillish, and Fuecoco will appear more frequently in the wild, while Honedge, Lapras, and Dusclops can be found in raids. As an additional bonus, you`ll be able to make up to five Special Trades each day of the event.

Shadow Raid Weekend

Go Battle Weekend isn`t the only event occurring during the Pokemon World Championships; Pokemon Go is also holding a Shadow Raid Weekend on August 16-17.
Throughout the weekend, Shadow Kyogre will appear as a five-star Shadow raid boss, offering your first chance to capture one. Additionally, you`ll receive one extra free Raid Pass each day when you spin the Photo Disc at Gyms.
Dark Skies

Leading up to the Go Fest Max Finale, Pokemon Go will host a Dark Skies event from August 18-23.
During this event, numerous Dynamax legendaries will appear in Max Battles, providing an opportunity to acquire powerful Pokémon before your confrontation with Eternatus. The legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta will also return as five-star raid bosses on different days.
Finally, several bonuses will be active throughout the event. Power Spots will refresh daily, and more will be active than usual. The number of Remote Raid Passes you can carry is also temporarily increasing to 30, allowing you to participate in more remote raids.

Pokemon Go Fest 2025: Max Finale

This year`s Pokemon Go Fest will officially conclude with the Max Finale event on August 23-24.
Headlining the event is Eternamax Eternatus, which will appear at Power Spots as an exceptionally challenging Max Battle boss. While you won`t be able to catch this Eternatus after defeating it, you will earn a substantial amount of Eternatus candy to power up the one you receive through Go Pass: Max Finale.
To assist in taking down Eternatus, every Gigantamax Pokemon will return to Max Battles. The legendaries Zacian and Zamazenta will also be available in five-star raids, offering another chance to catch them if you missed out previously.
Finally, a variety of bonuses will be active throughout the event. Power Spots will refresh more frequently than usual, with more active simultaneously. You`ll also earn double candy and candy XL for catching Pokémon, and there will be no limit on the number of Remote Raids you can join.

As usual, both free and paid Research tasks will be available during the event, offering additional rewards, including extra encounters with the featured Pokémon. As an added bonus, you`ll also earn double XP for successfully completing raids.

Rookidee Community Day

The month concludes with August`s Community Day, featuring the bird Pokémon Rookidee, taking place on August 30.
From 2-5 PM local time, Rookidee will appear more frequently in the wild, providing an excellent chance to gather Rookidee candy. Thanks to the increased spawn rate, your odds of encountering a shiny Rookidee will also improve.
Furthermore, Rookidee`s final evolution, Corviknight, will be able to learn a Community Day-exclusive attack. Any Corvisquire evolved from August 30 through September 6 will know the Flying-type Charged Attack Air Cutter upon evolving into Corviknight.
Several other bonuses will also be available during August`s Community Day: Eggs placed in incubators will hatch at a quarter of their usual distance, and you`ll earn double the standard amount of candy for catching Pokémon. Any Incense and Lure Modules activated during the event will also last for three hours.

Additionally, a few bonuses will be available throughout the event: The number of Remote Raid Passes you can hold will be temporarily increased to 20, and you`ll be able to receive up to five extra free Raid Passes when spinning the Photo Disc at gyms.
