Blizzard`s Overwatch 2 continues its tradition of hinting at future collaborations in new season previews. The recent trailer for Overwatch 2 Season 18, after showcasing upcoming features, ended with a clear tease: the silhouette of Joker from Persona 5, indicating a cross-over event.
If this Overwatch 2 and Persona collaboration mirrors past events, players can expect a selection of Overwatch 2 heroes to receive themed skins inspired by Persona`s iconic characters. Blizzard has yet to reveal specifics or a release date for this anticipated event. Previous collaborations have brought skins inspired by franchises such as G.I. Joe, Transformers, Street Fighter, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Beyond the collaboration, Season 18 introduces Stadium Quick Play, designed for faster matches with an accelerated item economy and full cross-play compatibility. Winston, Brigitte, and Pharah will be playable from the start, with Tracer joining the roster mid-season.
The highlight of the new season is Wuyang, the latest hero, whose water-manipulation abilities evoke comparisons to Avatar: The Last Airbender. Blizzard suggests Wuyang represents a move away from the game`s more unconventional character designs, though future non-human additions aren`t ruled out.
Overwatch 2 Season 18 is set to launch on August 26, bringing with it a competitive rank reset for a fresh start. Over 50 new perks will also be introduced, ensuring every hero benefits from at least one new enhancement.
