The highly anticipated crossover event between Persona 5 and Overwatch 2 is set to commence on September 16, bringing a stylish collection of premium cosmetic items inspired by Atlus` iconic JRPG. Players can expect these new skins to make a significant impact on in-game aesthetics, and quite possibly on their wallets too, given their premium classification.
Following earlier teasers, Blizzard has now officially revealed the five main cosmetic skins that players will be able to acquire as part of this Season 18 collaboration. These include:
- Wuyang as Joker
- Mercy as Panther
- Lifeweaver as Fox
- D.Va as Queen
- Genji as Skull

In contrast to previous Overwatch collaborations, such as those with Gundam Wing or Avatar: The Last Airbender, where Blizzard often reimagined how Overwatch heroes would embody other characters, the Persona 5 skins adopt a more direct and faithful approach. These cosmetics aim for an authentic representation, making the Overwatch 2 heroes look remarkably similar to their Persona 5 counterparts. However, there are subtle unique flourishes, such as rose petals cascading from Mercy`s wings and Wuyang`s staff evoking Joker`s Persona, Arsene.
It is noteworthy that Wuyang, being Overwatch 2`s newest support hero, receives prominent inclusion in this crossover, expanding his relatively limited cosmetic options. Mercy, on the other hand, is one of the game`s most popular characters and is frequently featured in collaborations, making her transformation into Panther a logical choice. While Blizzard has yet to release the precise pricing for these skins, it is expected that they will be consistent with previous crossover costs, which typically hover around 2,800 Overwatch Coins (approximately $28 USD) per skin bundle.

Beyond the character skins themselves, several of Persona 5`s distinct visual elements will also be integrated into Overwatch 2`s menus. This includes a fresh piece of key art created by Atlus character artist Shigenori Soejima. Furthermore, Blizzard has indicated that a unique Phantom Thieves-inspired overlay will appear when players view the Persona 5 cosmetics in the in-game shop, marking a first for such a collaboration.
For players who prefer not to make in-game purchases, Overwatch 2 collaborations typically offer free items such as sprays, weapon charms, and player icons, which can be earned by completing various in-game challenges. The Persona 5 crossover event is scheduled to be active from September 16 through September 30.
