After 14 years, the Katamari Damacy series is finally getting a new game for consoles and PC, titled Once Upon A Katamari. It is set to launch on October 24. This new installment will feature the signature ball-rolling gameplay across new stages and, for the first time in the series, a competitive multiplayer mode. Pre-orders are now open for various editions, including a $40 Standard Edition and a $60 King of All Sounds Edition, which comes with additional bonuses. Pre-ordering any version of the game will unlock 3 unique face customization parts. While these items are also obtainable through regular gameplay progression, pre-ordering grants early access.
Additionally, although not a pre-order bonus, players with existing save data from either Katamari Reroll or We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie will unlock a playable Young King character in Once Upon A Katamari.
Once Upon A Katamari Standard Edition
The Standard Edition of Once Upon A Katamari includes the base game for your chosen platform. Physical pre-orders for PS5 and Switch are available for $40. Xbox players are currently limited to digital pre-orders. PC players can also pre-order the digital version, with some retailers offering the Standard Edition at a discounted price, such as $33.59.
Once Upon A Katamari King of All Sounds Edition
Beyond the Standard Edition, a digital-only King of All Sounds Edition is available for $60. This version includes the base game along with 60 additional music tracks and 26 costumes from previous entries in the series. Digital pre-orders are available for consoles and PC. PC players may also find this edition at a discounted price, such as $50.39.
