Bethesda Game Studios has extended its gratitude to the nine million players who have explored The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. This significant achievement comes just over three months after the RPG`s release on April 22nd. Notably, the game had a surprise launch on Game Pass for PC and Xbox Series X|S, in addition to digital releases on those platforms and PlayStation 5.
Bethesda announced the Oblivion Remastered milestone on BlueSky, expressing appreciation to players by stating, “Thank you for sharing in our worlds.” The updated version of the game, which initially debuted in 2006 on PC and Xbox 360, was developed by Virtuos. Earlier this month, Virtuos experienced significant layoffs, affecting even their French studio responsible for the Oblivion Remastered project.
A couple of weeks ago, Oblivion Remastered received Update 1.2. This patch introduced a sixth difficulty option, `Journeyman,` positioned between `Adept` and `Expert.` Furthermore, the update delivered numerous performance and gameplay enhancements, alongside a discreet fix for a notable Dark Brotherhood issue.
Currently, Oblivion Remastered ranks as the second best-selling game of 2025, underscoring the success of this enhanced RPG. Reviews have specifically praised the game`s “astounding visual presentation,” contributing to its widespread acclaim.
