Oblivion Remastered Physical Deluxe Edition Offers Surprising Savings Over Digital Counterparts

Loyal fans of The Elder Scrolls series eagerly awaiting the physical release of Oblivion Remastered are in for a pleasant surprise: a significantly lower price point than anticipated. The physical Deluxe Edition of Oblivion Remastered can now be pre-ordered for just $40. This physical version, compatible with PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, astonishingly undercuts its digital counterparts, being $10 cheaper than the standard digital edition and $20 less than the Digital Deluxe Edition, assuming this isn`t a temporary pricing anomaly. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition is set to launch on October 13.

While the Deluxe Edition of Oblivion Remastered is a physical disc release, players should anticipate a mandatory download to complete the installation. The Xbox Series X packaging explicitly states this requirement. Interestingly, the PS5 box art does not display a similar warning, although this doesn`t confirm that the PlayStation version contains more data on the disc. The exact portion of the game`s substantial 120GB file size that will require downloading on either console remains unspecified.

Beyond the game itself, the Deluxe Edition provides access to a dedicated application for enjoying the soundtrack and browsing a digital art book. Furthermore, it includes a redeemable voucher for exclusive in-game content, comprising unique weapons, character armor sets, and specialized horse armor. Specifically, the physical Deluxe Edition DLC bundle features:

  • Three Weapons of Order
  • Three Weapons of Cataclysm
  • Armor of Order
  • Armor of Cataclysm
  • Armor of Order/Cataclysm for your steed

Upon its digital debut in April for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, Oblivion Remastered garnered a respectable 8/10 score in GameSpot`s review. This significantly enhanced version encompasses the core game along with its notable story expansions: Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine.

For PC gamers who have yet to purchase the title, Fanatical is currently offering substantial discounts, approximately 30% off both the standard and Digital Deluxe Editions. The standard edition, available via Steam keys, is priced at $34.49 (originally $50), while the Digital Deluxe Edition can be acquired for $41.39 (down from $60). Similar to its physical counterpart, the Digital Deluxe includes the digital soundtrack and art book application; however, its in-game DLC differs, featuring Akatosh Armor/Weapons and Mehrunes Dagon Armor/Weapons instead.
