Next Pokémon TCG Pocket Expansion Introduces 200 New Cards, Including Johto Starters

The upcoming `Wisdom of Sea and Sky` expansion for Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, set to launch on July 29, will introduce 200 new cards. This exciting update features the beloved Johto starter Pokémon—Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile—alongside the legendary Ho-Oh and Lugia.

According to an official announcement on the Pokémon website, the Pokémon TCG Pocket update is scheduled to go live at 11 PM PT on July 29, which translates to 2 AM ET on July 30. The expansion`s trailer, while not embedded here, previews additional new Pokémon like Pichu and Cleffa, as well as fan-favorite Johto trainers such as Lyra and Silver.

This new `Wisdom of Sea and Sky` expansion also brings a significant overhaul to Pokémon TCG Pocket`s trading system. One of the most notable changes is the replacement of `Trade Tokens` with `Shinedust` as the new currency for engaging in card trades. Furthermore, The Pokémon Company has confirmed that players will gain the ability to create a personalized wishlist, allowing them to list up to 20 desired cards for trading with the upcoming update.

This release continues a consistent update schedule for the game. Last month saw the arrival of the `Eevee Grove` expansion, and prior to that, the `Extradimensional Crisis` expansion was introduced in May, demonstrating a steady stream of new content for players.

In other recent Pokémon news, a `Pokémon Presents` livestream held earlier this week unveiled plans for `PokePark Kanto,` a new theme park scheduled to open next year. The event also revealed a new trailer for `Pokémon Legends: Z-A,` which focused on showcasing the inhabitants of Lumiose City.
