Chucky, the notorious doll, has terrorized screens for decades, instilling a deep-seated fear of toys. With a long-running film franchise and a recent sequel series, this eerie character has cemented his place as one of horror`s most recognizable figures. Soon, fans of the murderous doll can enhance their collections with two new premium editions from the franchise.
The Chucky: The Complete Series Limited Edition Steelbook is set to release on September 23 and is available for preorder at $65. Just two weeks later, on October 7, a new 4K edition of the original 1988 film, Child`s Play Limited Edition Steelbook, will launch exclusively on Amazon, available for preorder at $45.
Amazon-exclusive collectible editions of popular films are known to sell out quickly, and it`s anticipated that the TV series box set will be the first to go. This Steelbook is the first complete Blu-ray release for the show, and a standard edition does not appear to be planned, at least for now. Steelbook editions for television series are far less common, as evidenced by the rapid sell-out of the Star Trek: Lower Decks Steelbook earlier this year.
Chucky: The Complete Series Limited Edition Steelbook (Blu-ray)

Chucky: The Complete Series encompasses all 24 episodes of Syfy`s acclaimed TV series across six Blu-ray discs. Although Syfy canceled the show last fall after its third season, it comes highly recommended for fans of the films who haven`t yet seen it. The series serves as a direct continuation of the 2017 movie Cult of Chucky. While it embraces more comedic elements, Chucky still delivers plenty of gruesome kills, and Brad Dourif reprises his iconic voice role.
The Steelbook`s front cover features cool artwork, though it`s not a brand-new design; the image of Chucky by a school locker was initially used to promote Season 1, with “Wanna Play” in blood instead of “The Complete Series.” The back of the case showcases Polaroid-style photos with characters and Easter eggs. Opening the Steelbook reveals the inside of Chucky`s locker, complete with more pictures and a bloody knife – apparently, his biology and literature textbooks gravely offended him.
Consistent with many physical TV series releases, Chucky has only been available on 1080p Blu-ray. The discs support Dolby Audio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. While the bonus features list is somewhat light, it includes deleted scenes on all six discs and a featurette titled “The Legacy of Chucky.” The entire series runs for approximately 19 hours.
A standard DVD box set version, without the Steelbook case, is also releasing on September 23 for $45. For those who prefer to collect by season, all three seasons are individually available on Blu-ray, though purchasing them separately would cost around $50 in total.
